Legends Fine Art Gallery was originally one of the Addi chain of galleries.
Steve Addi & Stephen Clayton Hager opened the gallery in 1988 as a partnership. They both chose the Ferry Landing in Coronado because, not only was it a tourist destination, but also because of its proximity and ease of travelling between downtown San Diego and the Convention Center. Around 1991 the gallery name was changed to the Stephen Clayton Galleries. In 2007 Jaime and Edith Zamora purchased the gallery and decided to keep the name because of its excellent reputation in providing clients with fine art services. In 2010 Jaime and Edith opened a second gallery and this time decided to call it Legends Gallery, Fine Art of La Jolla.
Since the gallery's inception, It has represented several hundred world-renowned, established artists such as Alexander Calder, Norman Rockwell, Marc Chagall, Dr. Seuss, Salvador Dali, Leroy Nieman, etc., as well as several dozen new and emerging artists, such as Nelson De La Nuez, Nicola De Benedictis, Michael Parkes (relatively unknown on the west coast at that time), Daniel Authouart.
We cannot begin to count how many paintings & sculptures have sold over all these years or to how many clients. We can however, speak of the charity events. We donated over $10,000.00 worth of art and sponsored a silent auction in which 100% of the proceeds went to Coronado's Teen Center. We have also held events in which a portion of the proceeds were donated to such charitable organizations as the Red Cross and the Leukemia Foundation. The gallery also has made regular donations to various schools within Coronado & San Diego.
The gallery has a nation-wide reputation for honesty and integrity within the gallery industry, the publishing community, as well as the art buying community, and prides itself on its excellent customer service. Our clients return year after year because they are always made to feel that they are visiting an old friend. They know that they can rely on the advice and expertise of our professional consultants in securing the perfect artwork or sculpture for their unique and individual tastes.
